About LLC Cost Guide
LLC Cost Guide (llccostguide.com) exists for one narrow job: telling you what a state actually charges to form and keep an LLC — all of it, including the recurring fees and franchise taxes that headline “form an LLC for $49” marketing leaves out.
How the numbers are built
Every fee on this site comes from a named, checkable source: a state Secretary of State fee schedule, or an established roundup that tracks those schedules — principally Northwest Registered Agent’s state annual-fee index, Shopify’s LLC cost roundup, and BusinessAnywhere’s state cost tables (which state they were checked against state filing offices in October 2026). Figures were researched and cross-checked in October 2026. When sources disagreed — Delaware’s annual tax steps from $300 to $400 between the 2025 and 2026 tax years; New Jersey’s formation fee is listed at both $100 and $125 — the page shows the disagreement and states which figure the totals use.
What this site is not
- Not a law firm, accounting firm, or tax advisor. Nothing here is legal or tax advice.
- Not a filing or formation service. We do not file your paperwork, and no page here takes payment for a filing.
- Not an endorsement channel. Services are named only where their published prices are useful cost benchmarks, and naming one is not a recommendation.
Corrections
States change fees with little fanfare — Colorado doubled its report fee in July 2024 and Pennsylvania replaced a decennial filing with a $7 annual report in 2025. If you spot a figure that has moved, tell us via the contact page with the state source and we will verify and update it.
